Gearing Up for 2010!

For what was supposed to be a “new” race car it’s been a busy couple of months. Replaced a weak fuel pump. Swapped the large driver seat for a narrower one, including custom machined side mounts and spacers. Changed out the harness shoulder straps. Installed a passenger seat and harness. Rebalanced two of the wheels. Replaced a failed starter. Fixed an electrical fault that nearly burned the car to the ground. Installed a traqmate sensor unit and display unit. Bought video camera and mount, jerry-rigged a support bracket and power cable. Removed power steering system. Traced erratic gauges to a loose ground wire. Installed a panoramic rearview mirror. Cut lexan side windows and made support straps. Bought an extra set of wheels and tires. Replaced brake pads, rotors, and fluid. Fresh oil, filter, and coolant. Measured out sponsor graphics and removed old vinyl. Added a seat brace. Installed passenger side roll cage padding. Fabricated a brake pedal spacer. Adjusted window and right side nets. Weighed car and added ballast as needed. Drilled helmet for R3 head and neck restraint. Applied all stickers required by the club(s). Got car teched and issued a logbook. Sponsor vinyl goes on next week, I think we’re almost ready to race!
